Celebrate the first day of Summer and the longest sunlit day of the year, Saturday, June 21. This is also the day of the first collaborative event between Lèche-Vitrines Art Gallery and the Broward Art Guild.
Pure Image (Purist Photography, Not Digitally Manipulated). Straight-forward photographic works, utilizing either traditional or digital cameras. Not manipulated digital works originating from photographs or mixed-media works incorporating photographs.
Urban Elegance (Street Art Inspired Works Meets Fine Art Gallery). Works reflecting traditional street art styles, i.e. spray paint/graffiti art, stenciling, wheatpasting, stickering, etc. but polished for display in a fine art setting.
All exhibitions by the Broward Art Guild are juried and hung the week before the opening by the Guild. Only the best of the best will be displayed. We know the work will be great but since we don’t know who will be chosen yet….there are no images to show you at this time….you’ll just have to come to the opening to see what made the cut.
The exhibition to be held at Lèche-Vitrines Art Gallery, the opening reception with the artists is Saturday, June 21, 6:30-9:00 and will be on view until July 12.
About the Broward Art Guild:
The Broward Art Guild is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting working artists in Broward County and to providing the community with opportunities for involvement and education in the visual arts.
The Broward Art Guild is the oldest and largest organization of working artists in Broward County. Formed in the late 1940s, originally as a branch of the American Artists Professional League, the Guild later evolved into an independent, not-for-profit organization.
During its first 30 years, the Guild operated with a volunteer staff of member artists and in 1986, engaged its first paid administrator. Since moving its gallery, school and offices to the downtown Fort Lauderdale area in 1987, the Guild has enjoyed an unprecedented growth in programs, membership and prestige.
In 2007, having lost their office and exhibition space, the Broward Art Guild is forging on and continuing to have monthly exhibitions of Art Guild members at different locations each month. Lèche-Vitrines Art Gallery has offered to host their June and July events.
